Ok this blog has been dormant for half a year now and it's partially my fault. Will be trying to revamp the site over the next few months but I need some inspiration. Any suggestions/ideas on how to make this site's content more exciting, interesting, captivating.. please email events@cumas.org. Even offers to help me spice up this site will be very much welcomed.

A Picnic at Jesus Green in the Cold (Beg Dec)

This was one of the randomly spontaneous suggestions that actually became a reality. It happened when Michaelmas term ended and only some of us left in Cambridge. We had everything from sandwiches to strawberries. Well, almost everything, we lack the key ingredient, which would have made our picnic better (warmer)... and that is, hot drinks!!

It took us quite a while to find the perfect spot; it's funny seeing how every spot looked the same, green. The park was freezing and by that, I do mean FREEZE-ing, most of us (including me) were under-dressed.

It got to a point where we stood up, ran and hopped around, while cursing for not thinking of bringing hot drinks. We ended up playing football to keep warm. Each team had a good mix of guys and girls, most of us girls hadn’t played the sport before. Shirley was outstandingly good though, she managed to score twice by kicking the ball past Wei Shen, the goal keeper.

By 3pm, the Picnic ended and we left Jesus Green to prepare for our cookout a few hours later. No matter how cold we felt, we enjoyed ourselves. Staying back in Cambridge does seem to have its perks :).

Queens Cookout 6/01/07

Ok, first of all, it was amazing how 8 of us managed to fit into my tiny room. Lol. Mei Sheng and I (inspired by everyone else’s superb culinary skills) had decided to try cooking a meal on our own. No, don’t worry, we didn’t poison anyone or create a major disaster.

Well, as usual, we ended up with a lot of food.

Chicken curry and vegetables were by Mei Sheng, pork ribs by me and seafood by Wei Shen. Simon cooked red bean soup. Voon Kiat and Kevin brought sushi. Yi Lun brought cheesecake. Shirley rested for once, after being the one who was always cooking all these while. Haha. Want to know the food was like? Ask the rest for better answers.

After we were done eating and washing up, we watched some hilarious videos on YouTube. Then, Voon Kiat thought he had a better way to entertain us. He decided to show us his…umm….unique way of eating ‘After Eight’.

Presenting Voon Kiat's eternal struggle!

Hmnn…lost for words? We were too.

Here’s a fact we have all probably acknowledged long ago. Whenever Malaysians gather, it is all about food, food and more food. Lol.
